Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’ve gotten so much anxiety that my trembling would cause an earthquake. From working on multiple projects to just regular stress factors come this holiday season, the hustle and bustle has put me in a stressful place I haven’t encountered before. With that, I came across this quote at just the perfect time to remind me to keep calm.
Sharing my concerns about my self diagnosed anxiety to those I know, they’ve told me that it’s practically all in my head. As much as I want to believe them and trust that it’s just really me overthinking things, a part of me is really worried that it’s more than that. Anxiety acting up much? Yeah. This past week was just a handful of ups and downs and I felt like I couldn’t take it and all I could really do was grin and bear it. Since today marks a new week, I’ve made it a point to really take some time to relax and breathe. I haven’t been doing much yoga lately (shame on me, I know!) and I’ve been running around doing things like a mad man. I really want this week to mark the beginning to overcoming this anxious feeling I’ve been having. So that’ll mean working on yoga and meditation in the mornings and ending my nights early with a relaxing read.
In the midst of all of this craziness, it really is up to me to control my actions and “keep still” like Chopra says. I can’t let these short term factors overrule who I am and how I feel. So I hope if any of you have felt stress and anxiety, that you don’t let it get in the way of who you are. I’m still a work in progress and I know if I can overcome this overwhelming anxious feeling, so can you! That’s it for this week’s Motivational Monday… Have a wonderful week, everyone!
“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.”
